Why is it that no Republican politician – except, of course, a few people like Liz Cheney and Adam Kinsinger who hate Trump more than they love the country – ever seem to go even an inch over the center political line when it’s time to run for office, but Democrat politicians – except in the most leftwing, nutcase areas – always seem to be willing to move to touting Republican policies when it’s time to run for office?
Answer? Because Democrat policies can’t win in more than a handful of “leftwing, nutcase areas!”
With the exception of a handful of faux-Republicans who are currently in the throes of a hissing, temper tantrum, the Republican Party is firmly behind Trump in this election cycle. Do we all love Trump? Nope. We all hate Democrat policies. We hate that these people seem hellbent on destroying America.
- We hate the flood of illegal immigrants that we are expected to provide with food, housing, education and health care over the welfare of our own citizens.
- We hate the unprecedented level of government spending and debt that shot inflation through the roof.
- We hate that we are supporting wars in Europe and the Middle East that could have been avoided entirely.
- We hate that women and little girls aren’t safe on the streets or even while playing women’s sports.
- We hate that our law enforcement is disrespected, abandoned and attacked.
- We hate that foreign dignitaries, literally, have to retrieve our president as he wanders, blindly, off an international stage.
- We hate that our warriors are sent to fight and die for military leadership that’s more concerned with DEI training than military training!
Look, I get that a lot of single-issue young females are upset over the Dobbs decision. I wish that human beings never had to grapple with these terrible choices – whether to kill an innocent in the womb or force a young woman to bear a child, no matter her circumstances. It’s awful. But the answer must always be to put the question to our communities, not leave it with a central, government leviathan. That, and only that, is what Dobbs did.
And I get that a tiny fraction of 1% of our people are born with gender dysphoria. Their needs must be addressed by the medical community. But that isn’t what is happening. A cult of despicable people willing to exploit, manipulate and psychologically torment children and young people into believing that their parents don’t love or understand them are touting the mutilation of children, often without their parents’ knowledge or consent.
I get that we entrust our children to educators for a major chunk of their lives, and we need and want to be able to support and respect those teachers. But that isn’t what is happening. Educators have dumbed down the curricula to get a teaching degree. They have lowered standards and expectations for our children. They are graduating functional illiterates and are more concerned with “grooming” children than educating them.
I get that we can’t just slam our doors on the rest of the world. We have to stop communism and terrorism, saving ourselves and friends and allies, if it becomes necessary. But that isn’t what is happening. Politicians and industries that can make boatloads of money from warmongering are squandering our blood and treasure in hopeless, unnecessary and useless efforts that not only can be avoided with strong diplomacy but have no direct benefit to the United States.
I get that tariffs across the board can cause prices to go up. But that isn’t what is happening. Selective tariffs, designed to target off-shore manufacturers who are destroying American companies’ abilities to compete, are precisely what we need to bring manufacturing and American jobs back on-shore. When American companies and workers are allowed to compete, no one can keep up.
I get that hard times hit everyone at one time or another, and we may need a hand up. But that’s not what is happening. A “hand up” from government should never be a lifestyle choice. It is demeaning, debilitating and unsustainable. Jobs cure poverty. Education is preparation for a good life. Church and family are where we turn for temporary help, a “hand up.” And a strong community keeps streets safe.
Democrats have been running our major cities and many of our states for so long that we can no longer remember a time that those cities and states weren’t crime-stricken, poverty-stricken and corruption-stricken! And now, they are exacerbating those problems with vicious foreign gang activity, resources further drained to provide illegals with housing, education, healthcare and welfare, and job providers moving in huge numbers to escape high taxes and to find friendlier environments.
Voting for the people who have come within a hair’s breadth of destroying our country makes no sense to me. I haven’t voted for a Democrat in a long time – not since they began moving radically left – but I used to, and if they presented any reasonable candidates, perhaps I still would. I, as do most Americans, just want to go back to good jobs, safe streets, successful schools, low taxes, strong military and a winning foreign policy. In short, we just want America back!
